Fourth Grade

It is our pleasure to welcome you and your child to fourth grade! In fourth grade, we build on everything learned in third grade to prepare your child for fifth grade. We have high expectations for all our students and want them to work to their fullest potential! 

Students are encouraged to take an active role in their learning, work collaboratively with peers, and explore new ideas through hands-on activities and meaningful classroom experiences. Teachers provide support and guidance as students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Fourth graders will take Virginia Standards of Learning assessments in May in Reading, Math, and Virginia Studies. To help your child be successful, we ask that you practice multiplication facts, read, and/or study with them each night. Fourth grade is a year of exploration, growth, and increasing independence as students prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead. It is going to be an amazing year!
