Virginia Department of Health Resources As Summer Break Approaches

May 19, 2023
With summer break just under a month away, the Virginia Department of Health and Prince George County Public Schools have partnered to share valuable information relating to COVID-19 resources as the federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency ended on May 11, 2023.
First, the Crater Health District will provide free at-home COVID-19 test kits, care kits, hand sanitizer, masks, thermometers and gloves, and emergency food boxes for those living and working within the health district. The items will be available at the Prince George Health Department on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., located at 6450 Administration Drive. Those interested can review the flier for additional locations and dates within the Crater Health District. To make an appointment or receive more information, call (804)-347-2782.
Next, the Crater Health District departments will continue to offer free COVID-19 vaccines. The Prince George Health Department will provide free doses of Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines (individuals six months or older) on the first, third, and fifth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Those interested can review the flier for additional locations and dates within the health district and register. You can also visit to pre-register for a clinic and receive an appointment.
Finally, as the federal PHE ends this week, the Crater Health District continues to offer resources to the community through its Care Resources Coordination, or CRC, program. This initiative helps connect people who have been impacted by COVID-19 in some way and are in need of aid, including food assistance, housing and shelter, physical and mental healthcare, unemployment, and more. The CRC program is available across all Crater Health District health departments, including the Prince George Health Department at the county government complex. For more information, call (804)-382-2667 or email [email protected]
Prince George County Public Schools appreciates its partnership with the Crater Health District and Virginia Department of Health and their tireless efforts to provide resources to our school communities.
